Course in Danish Culture

Level: BA
Result: The student will possess a basic insight into Danish culture.
Contents: Subjects studied include Danish history, literature, film, TV, music and architecture. The focus changes from year to year and has included the Vikings, Copenhagen, the Dogme films and King Christian IV. The course is managed by a director and the teaching is done by specialist university teachers. Several relevant excursions are made in conjunction with the course.
Credits: 7.5 ECTS
Form of examination: Active participation in a minimum of 80% of the classes and excursions.
Moderation: The examination is internal and without moderation.
Marking: Pass/fail
Syllabus: Your syllabus is the binder unless otherwise arranged. The binder will be sold at Publi@kom in room 11A-0-02 at KUA2 and will contain all the relevant texts.
A collection of pertinent books is available in the reference library at the SAXO Knowledge Center, 13B on the 2nd floor (KUA2). These books are only to be studied in the library, cf. list of books, which you can find in the Absalon room.

Marking: The standard Danish 7 grade scale.

Form of examination: Free written home assignment of 16-20 standard pages. The subject of the assignment is agreed upon between the candidate and the examiner.
Moderation: The examination is internal and without moderation.
Marking: The standard Danish 7 grade scale.

Credits: 15 ECTS
Form of examination: Free written home assignment of a maximum of 11-15 standard pages following active student participation. Active student participation consists of a synopsis of 2-3 standard pages. The subject of the assignment is agreed upon between the candidate and the director.
Moderation: The examination is internal and without moderation
Marking: The Danish 7-point scale It is not possible to get a certificate for active participation or attendance.
